The Decatur County Commissioners met on Monday.
There was a request from the City of Greensburg to annex a road portion. This is on CR 250 N leading out toward Honda. This is an odd piece of road that the city forgot to annex out with the rest of the road and they need it to put utilities out there. This was approved.
Rick Hoeing was appointed to fill a vacancy on the BZA board. APC Petition 2022-6 was presented to the board. This was presented at the last commissioners meeting for a review of an unfavorable recommendation from the APC for Darryl Wolterman to receive a B-3 zoning ordinance. The commissioners spoke with a couple of the APC members who voted that night, making sure to get one who approved and one who did not, to get the whole picture. The commissioners approved the APC’s unfavorable recommendation.
Kenny Buening gave an update. There have been 31 building inspections, 12 new building permits, 2 renewals, and 2 red tags. Last Thursday they got several different complaints on properties in the Burney area that is being inspected.
Jessica Hadler came to the board to request a road closure for the On Eagle’s Wings 5K. This is on August 27 and the route will be the same as in the past. This was approved.
Dana Parker came to the board to request maintenance contracts for the electronic controls at the jail. The bronze plan meets their needs and they are requesting a 2 year contract. This was approved.
There will be no credit card payments allowed for fairground rental payments. Cash and check only.
The Greensburg Quilt Club and Art On the Square have been creating a Bicentennial Quilt to be hung in the courthouse. They made a request that they be allowed to hang a banner copy of the quilt on the outside of the courthouse as well. The commissioners think this is a great idea and that the quilt is very beautiful. This was approved.
