Decatur County Health Department’s Alicia Nobbe Honored with IEHA Presidential Commendation

Greensburg, IN — 10/07/2025— The Decatur County Health Department is proud to announce
that Alicia Nobbe has been awarded the Presidential Commendation from the Indiana
Environmental Health Association (IEHA) in recognition of her outstanding service,
leadership, and contributions to environmental health in Indiana.
Alicia Nobbe, who has played a pivotal role within the Decatur County Health Department, has
consistently gone above and beyond in her duties to protect public and environmental health in
our community. Her efforts include drafting and implementing both a new county risk-based
food ordinance and a swimming pool ordinance, leading community garden initiatives,
advancing food safety programs, developing community partnerships and supporting outreach
and education.
In addition to her operational responsibilities, Alicia has been active in mentoring new
professionals, collaborating across departments, and promoting best practices in environmental
health. Her dedication exemplifies the mission of IEHA: to promote and support excellence in
environmental health throughout Indiana.
The IEHA Presidential Commendation is a special recognition granted at the discretion of the
IEHA President. It honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional service, leadership,
volunteer commitment, and contributions beyond their normal duties to further environmental
health in their communities and across the state.
This commendation places Alicia among a select group of professionals whose efforts
significantly impact public health, regulatory excellence, and community well-being across
Indiana.
