Jennings County Sheriff’s Department report –
Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers with the Indiana State Police (Sellersburg District) are investigating a crash that involved a motorcycle and a passenger truck that left one person dead in the 9000 block Highway 3 N. Saturday evening.
On May 6th, 2023 at about 9:15 pm, Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to a personal injury crash in the 9000 block north of state road 3 near the Decatur County line. When deputies arrived on scene, they observed one person, a 23-year-old male from Westport, In. that had sustained life-threatening injuries. The male subject was transported to St. Vincent Jennings ER where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the passenger truck, identified as Mark Shreve (45) of Westport, IN was transported from the scene to St. Vincent Jennings ER to be cleared for minor injuries. During that time an OWI ( operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated) investigation was launched by deputies and he was placed under arrest upon being medically cleared.
Crash reconstructionists with the Indiana State Police arrived on the scene to investigate the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
