Decatur County Memorial Hospital Board

The Decatur County Memorial Hospital Board met on Thursday.

There was a financial review presented to the board. The emergency was better than the budget plan and the revenue improved by 16.4%. The salaries and wages were nearly consistent with the budget and they had a nice return on investments. The report was approved.

There was a report given by the Risk Management Committee. They discussed securing the guest network at the hospital. They also discussed patient/employee incidents. The report was approved. There was a report given by the Planning Committee. The rehab building has all the planning done and they are now working on the financing. They continue to finish projects and start new ones. The report was approved. There was a report given by the Quality Committee. They celebrated the 5 star rating that was given to the hospital. They went through safety events and their countermeasures. They reviewed the high risk areas and were pleased to see they were all on track. The report was approved. There was a report given by the Finance Committee. The majority of their meeting was spent reading the audit, which is currently happening at the hospital. They reviewed the capital requests. The report was approved.

Rex McKinney gave a CEO update. They have continued to celebrate the 5 star rating given to the hospital which speaks to the quality and commitment of the hospital as a whole. They had the YMCA groundbreaking and are in the planning phases of the Healthy Fair.

All capital requests were approved. The Performance Improvement Policy was approved.

All 1 year provisional periods met were approved. All appointments to the medical staff were approved. All resignations from medical staff were approved.
