Decatur County Warming Center to Open Saturday Evening Through Monday Noon

Greensburg, IN — The Decatur County Health Department, in partnership with the Washington
Township Trustee, will open a community warming center beginning 5:00 p.m. on Saturday,
December 13, and operating continuously through 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15. The
warming center will be located at the Decatur County Health Department, 315 S. Ireland St.,
Door 14, Greensburg, IN 47240.

With dangerously cold temperatures expected over the weekend, the warming center will
provide a safe, warm place to stay for individuals and families needing shelter. Warm meals,
hydration, and a comfortable place to sleep will be available throughout its operation.
“We encourage anyone without adequate heat or safe shelter to utilize this resource,” said the
Decatur County Health Department. “Ensuring that all community members have a warm place
to stay during severe weather is a priority.”
