Friday evening mishap

On Friday, July 12, 2024 at approximately 5:30 PM, the Decatur County Sheriff’s
Department investigated a crash involving one vehicle near the 135 mile marker on
eastbound I-74.
The driver of the vehicle stated that he was in the left lane, traveling east bound when a
tire blew, forcing the vehicle off of the south side of the interstate. The vehicle rolled and
came to a rest on its top. The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle and had to be
extricated from underneath the vehicle. The driver and seven other passengers in the
vehicle were all transported to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital with non-life
threatening injuries.
The driver was identified as Celimon Janvier of Indianapolis.
