Greensburg was one of four recipients – From OCRA
The Office of Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs announced four Indiana communities will receive $1,550,000 in Owner Occupied Rehabilitation grants. The grants will be used to empower communities to directly fund homeowners of low-to-moderate income to make needed repairs on their homes.
“These grants are about more than just fixing homes — they’re about strengthening communities,” Lieutenant Governor Beckwith said. “When we take care of the small things, like repairing roofs or upgrading heating systems, we’re sending a message that every home and every family matters. This approach helps prevent larger issues down the road and fosters pride and stability in our neighborhoods. By empowering homeowners to make these repairs, we’re investing in the future of Indiana and preserving the values that make our state great.”
Communities awarded an OOR grant will establish a program to help fund low- and moderate-income homeowners make repairs on their homes. Eligible repairs include roof repair or replacement, ADA accessibility, heating and cooling replacement, lighting and electrical upgrades, and water heater replacement.
OOR grants are awarded to the following communities:
- The City of Franklin is awarded $350,000
- The City of Greensburg is awarded $350,000
- The City of Union City is awarded $350,000
- Huntington County is awarded $500,000
“The Owner Occupied Rehabilitation grant program can be crucial for homeowners who may need extra support from their community in order to make needed improvements to maintain their safety in their home,” said OCRA Executive Director Fred Glynn. “Congratulations to these four communities and thank you for seeking out this funding opportunities to better your community and the quality of life for your residents.”
