Pence honors Indiana Officers fallen in the line of duty

Washington, DC –Congressman Greg Pence commemorated National Police Week and urged Hoosiers across Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District to always Back The Blue.
“While a week is not enough time to recognize the thankless work America’s police do for our communities, it is just one of many ways we can show our support for our men and women in Blue. This last year has been especially difficult for our officers with the dangerous rhetoric they have to face, and losing any officer in the line of duty is one officer too many,” said Congressman Greg Pence.
H. Res. 1114, cosponsored by Congressman Pence, expresses support for recognizing and honoring National Police Week. In addition, it honors by name the 619 officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2021 or whose stories were lost until now, and it expresses steadfast support and appreciation for law enforcement.
In Indiana, there were 9 officers that lost their lives.
“The job of our Hoosier police officers is becoming increasingly more difficult and unsafe. Yet, that hasn’t stopped them from putting on their uniforms every day and leaving their loved ones to be on the frontlines of protecting us. I have always had the utmost respect and deepest appreciation for our police forces across the Sixth District and will continue to support them in every way possible in my work in Congress.” Pence concluded.
