The Decatur County United Fund held its 28th Annual Auction and Dinner on November 1, 2024 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Greensburg.
Executive Director, Joane Cunningham, shared, “The United Fund Halloween Bash Auction had a record-breaking year with a net amount raised of $152,139 for the Decatur County United Fund. Amazing! Thank you to all who help support our work.”
Auctioneers, Brian Owens, Aaron Gault and Steve Fortner kept the bidding lively as guests, many of whom were decked out in their Halloween best, bid on the many items available. Brad Schutte served as the evening’s master of ceremonies dressed up as one of the Village People.
The clerk for the evening was Frank Narwold and the checkout table was facilitated by Connie Weston and Amanda White.
Dinner was catered by B&S Catering and then bidding started on the 72 live items that were graciously donated or sponsored by local businesses and individuals. Throughout the night, those in attendance tried to outbid each other on sports memorabilia, dinners, destinations, household items and experiences. There were also eleven silent items that were auctioned off.
Cunningham noted, “The evening was a lot of fun and many in attendance dressed up in some really unique outfits for our Halloween theme. Those in attendance bid in support of the 16 non-profits providing valuable programs and services to Decatur County residents.”
