South Decatur celebrates ISSMA results

Fifteen South Decatur students showcased their musical talents this past weekend at the Indiana State School Music Association Solo and Ensemble District Contest, held at East Central Middle School. The South Decatur Vocal Music Department delivered an outstanding performance, earning an impressive nine Gold ratings and two Silver ratings. Five of the Gold-rated performances have advanced to the state contest, which will take place in three weeks at Perry Meridian High School.

The Silver Ratings were awarded to the quartet of Lyndsey Shireman, Skyler AmRhein, Brynklie Ortman, and Teghan Pittman, as well as the trio of Lilli Hamer, Kenzie Troutman, and Miley Ward.

Gold Ratings were earned by soloists Grant Peters, Daniel Chastain, Mikayla Young, and Rylee Slinkard.

Advancing to the state contest with Gold Ratings are soloists Kenzie Troutman, Lilli Hamer, Allison Flessner, and Hanna Gridley, along with the PAM Ensemble featuring Piper Phelps, Allison Flessner, and Morgan Reatherford.
