Greensburg City Council Held a Special Meeting on Tuesday.
The first item was a preliminary determination public hearing for the fire department and street department build. The reason for this hearing is under the statute as it need 2 public hearing in order to receive the bond needed for construction. There was no public comment.
Ordinance 2022-26 for update and expansion of the Greensburg Common Council was presented. Due to the population increase there must be 3 council at large sitting on the council. There is no redistricting happening. It was recommended the board vote current council members into these positions until the next general election can fill them. The board was not comfortable with this and asked that additional language be added in order to leave those seats open until the next general election if legally allowed to do so. The first reading was approved.
