The Decatur County United Fund is pleased to recognize our outgoing North Decatur High School student board member Arden Muckerheide and Cooper Williams of Greensburg Community High School. We also welcome Carmin Ripperger and Garrett Schwering in their new role as student directors.
Both Muckerheide and Williams served a two-year term from June 1, 2022 until May 31, 2024. They were both active volunteers for the Strawberry Festival and Day of Caring. As student directors, they were engaged in board governance, policy reviews, fundraising, and volunteer opportunities. We wish them the best of luck as they move on to college.
Joane Cunningham, Executive Director, shared, “Arden and Cooper are outstanding students and will do very well in their next stage of life. The United Fund has been fortunate to have them serve on the board and appreciate their desire to give back to this community.”
We are pleased to announce the addition of Carmin Ripperger who is currently a Junior at Greensburg Community High School. Her involvement includes Mayor’s Youth Council, New Directions Teen Council, Youth and Government, Student Council, Recycling Club, was sophomore class officer (Secretary), Jr. Optimist, varsity volleyball and track, and more. She will serve a two-year term from June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2026.
Garrett Schwering is coming on board as a Junior to represent North Decatur High School. His involvement includes basketball, Vice President of Student Council, National Honor Society, North Decatur President and District 12 Treasurer to FFA, and owner/operator of Garrett’s Greenhouse. He will serve a two-year term from June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2026.
“We welcome Carmin and Garrett and hope they gain greater knowledge of board governance, policies, procedures, finance, and our community during their tenure on the Decatur County United Fund board,” said Cunningham, Executive Director for Decatur County United Fund.
