UNITED FUND WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Chris Bedel, Tony McLaughlin, and Laura Walsman are the newest members of the Decatur County United Fund Board of Directors.

Decatur County United Fund announces the election of 3 new members to the Board of Directors. These
individuals bring a unique blend of experience, insight, and vision that will help guide the United Fund
through its next phase of growth.

The new members of the Board are Chris Bedel, Bedel Security; Tony McLaughlin, Delta Faucet
Company; and Laura Walsman, Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Chris Bedel comes to the board currently as President, Founder & CEO of Bedel Security and has been
with the company for 11 years. He is originally from Millhousen, IN and has lived in Greensburg a
majority of his life. Chris graduated from South Decatur High School and Purdue University with a
Bachelor of Science in Management with a Management Information Systems minor. Chris is married to
Amanda and they have four children. He enjoys camping, hiking, and other travel. Chris stated, “I
appreciate what the United Fund does for our community and I’m honored to get to share my skills and
experiences to help in its continued success.”

Tony McLaughlin comes to the board as a Materials Manager at Delta Faucet Company for the last six
years and previously worked at GECOM Corporation for 29 years. He is a Greensburg native and
graduated from Greensburg High School – class of 1990. Tony is married to Jill and in his spare time
enjoys hunting, fishing, Jeeping and basically anything outdoors. Tony is an usher at St. Mary’s Church,
helps with the St. Mary’s Church Festival, member of Knights of Columbus, a member of the Knights of
St. John, and also serves on the Greensburg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He noted, “I am
honored to join the United Fund Board and look forward to being more involved in our community.
Excited to work with our current and new directors on the board in supporting the essential programs
through the United Fund that makes our community stronger.”

Laura Walsman is Director, Practice Operations and Physician Recruiter at the Decatur County Memorial
Hospital and has been there 15 years. Laura is originally from Greensburg and she and her husband,
Ryan, have four children. She graduated from South Decatur High School and Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. She enjoys working out, playing recreational softball
and volleyball, reading, watching her children play multiple sports, and spending quality time with family
and friends. She is currently a member of Greensburg Chamber of Commerce Board and St. Mary’s
Parish. Laura shared, ”I am excited for the opportunity to serve on such an instrumental board for our
community. I am ready to dive in and learn more about all the wonderful things the United Fund does for
our community. I am committed to contributing to the work that has a real, positive impact on our
community. I enjoy giving back to a community that I care deeply about.”

Kristen Fry, of Honda, will continue and fulfill her second term to the board. She also is serving as the
2026 President of United Fund’s Board of Directors. Other Board Officers include Stephanie Kress of
Rolfes, Garvey, Walker & Robbins as 1 st Vice President, Bob Johannigman of Johannigman Excavating
as 2 nd Vice President, and Nick Wallpe of RBSK Partners PC as Secretary/Treasurer. Additional board
members include: Sally Cuskaden of Farm Credit Mid-America, Scott Hadler CPA at Raftelis, Angie
Reynolds of First Financial Bank, and Matt Slaven of Greensburg Schools. Student directors include
Garrett Schwering at North Decatur High School, Carmin Ripperger at Greensburg High School, and
Taylor Somers at South Decatur High School.

community, and to affect conditions that contribute to our community’s biggest challenges,” stated Joane
Cunningham, Executive Director. “Together, with our funded nonprofits, business partners, and individual
stakeholders, we can and will create a healthier and more prosperous Decatur County for everyone in our
community.”
