They have surpassed both contractual completion dates and the council must now investigate what they can do with the incurred extra costs. This will be looked further into by the council. The council held a discussion on cemetery rates. They need to adjust the rates for the future well being of the cemetery. Most of the equipment used for the upkeep at the cemetery is over 20 years old and will eventually give out. The council would like to set up a budget with a 5 year rotation plan for the purchase of new equipment. This budget will only be supported if they were to sell 217 plots per year at the current rate, which is unrealistic. The council understands this is a delicate situation however is a decision that will need to be made in order to keep the cemetery in good shape. This was tabled.

The board approved the payment for the cemetery paving.

The new Town of Westport logo was presented. This was created by Kyle Alumbaugh and was approved.

The council has started to construct a new animal ordinance for the town. This is in order to keep both humans and pets safe. The ordinance will include rabies vaccination requirements, owners responsibilities, wild animal rules, dangerous animal rules, and much more.
