Westport Town Council

Westport Town Council met on Monday.

There was an update on the Westport water projects. Things are moving along with the wastewater project and their monthly progress meetings have been productive. The board approved the final amendment for the USDA grant closure for $48,464.27.

The new pastor for the Westport Wesleyan Church came to the board to request approval for a “Bounce House in the Park” event. They recognize that the church has been quiet the past few years and would like to reintroduce themselves in the community throughout the summer with this event. They do have a form of insurance. They would need to organize this with Connie Davis.

Resolution 2023-6 for the authorization and execution of INDOT agreements was approved.

The request to close the alley by 107 W Sycamore Street was approved on second reading.

The board approved the resolution adopting a fiscal plan and proposed annexation. The fiscal plan was adopted in order to attract real estate of the annexed area.

The board tabled the discussion of the refundable deposit fund for the community building.

The board approved the purchase of a smooth blade bucket for the excavator for $18,032.91. The board approved the purchase of new locks for the Community Building.
