The Lady Pirates Junior High Cross Country Team defeated 28 schools in Nashville on Saturday morning to be crowned the 2024 Brown County Eagle Classic Invitational Champions. The Greensburg girls dominated the field by earning 4 of the top 10 medalist positions and earning a low score of 84 points. Leading the Lady Pirates with their award winning podium finishes included Madeline Risher 4th, Eleanor Davis 5th, Lulu Webb 8th, and Maria Scholle in 10th against 186 other competitors. Other notable performances came from 58th Hadley Davis, 110th Kate McNulty, and 131st Annalise Keller in the varsity girls race while Noelle Kern placed 91st in the JV race.
All the ladies ran spectacularly! Risher, Davis, Webb and Scholle were very competitive running in the front pack from the start to the finish of the race. Other key achievements came from Lulu Webb, Hadley Davis, and Kate McNulty running close to personal record times. Webb broke 12 minutes for the 2nd time this season, Davis cracked the 13 minute barrier for the 2nd time this season, while McNulty was just shy of breaking 14 minutes again while Noelle Kern broke the 17 minute barrier for the first time this year and set a new season best time.

The Greensburg Junior High boys placed 17 out of 29 schools in the Brown County Eagle Classic. Honey Creek Middle School won the event. The Pirate Harriers were led by Jackson Tekulve with a 29th place finish out of 196 total competitors. Tekulve was followed by 64th place Oliver Corya, 71st Jack Gindling, 109th Kason Bedel, 156th Luke Harris, 160th Liam Hernanadez, and 173rd Miles Gill.
The Boys team performed well against the tough competition. Jackson Tekulve, Oliver Corya, Kason Bedel, and Liam Hernandez all improved on their previous times at Eagle Park. Bedel and Hernandez improved the most by dropping nearly a minute. Luke Harris ran a sub 14 for the 3rd time this season and Hernandez nearly broke his career PR and the 14 minute barrier again!
