Greensburg Soccer from Coach Cody DeVolld

Greensburg boys soccer team traveled to Liberty, IN to take on the
Union County Patriots and came away with a 7-3 victory. The Pirates
allowed a Patriot goal within the game’s first 5 minutes, an early
season theme in Greensburg’s first three games. Greensburg however was
able to respond quickly with a goal from Cy Miller, assisted from
Hunter Springmeyer. The offensive attack didn’t stop there for
Greensburg as 3 more goals were scored before the end of the half. Cy
Miller’s second goal of the half came from an assist from John Robbins
to push the Pirate lead to 2-1. John Robbins and Hunter Springmeyer
contributed goals of their own to finish out the half for the Pirates,
Robbins’ goal assisted by freshman Ethan Smith.
The second half started off similarly for Greensburg, by conceding a
goal within the first 5 minutes of the half. Luckily, again, the
Pirates were able to respond with 2 more goals from John Robbins (both
assisted by Ethan Smith) and one final goal from Cy Miller. This was
the first time that 2 players scored 3 or more goals in the same game
for the Pirates since the 2020 season.
Goalkeeper Braylon Hahn finished the game with 7 saves.

The Pirates are back in action Tuesday night @ Franklin County.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
