North Decatur Varsity Baseball falls to Southwestern


  • North Decatur Chargers Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-2 loss to Southwestern on Monday. Southwestern scored on a error in the first inning, a double by Zach Cole in the second inning, and a single by Jamison Lewis in the second inning.
  • The North Decatur Chargers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Southwestern, giving up 11 runs.
  • Southwestern got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Southwestern.
  • Southwestern scored three runs in the sixth inning. Southwestern big bats were led by LewisMason Lichlyter, and Tanner Jacobs, who all drove in runs.
  • Cole pitched Southwestern to victory. The hurler surrendered two runs on five hits over six and a third innings, striking out 13 and walking zero. Gage Ponder threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
  • Reid Messer took the loss for North Decatur Chargers VarsityMesser went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out two.
  • Jacob Mirick went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead North Decatur Chargers Varsity in hits.

Southwestern didn’t commit a single error in the field. Stockdale had the most chances in the field with 15.
