| Monday’s game against Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN) was a heartbreaker for North Decatur Chargers Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 12-9 defeat. The game was tied at six with Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN) batting in the bottom of the fifth when Carson Hughes lined out, driving in a run. Despite the loss, North Decatur Chargers Varsity did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN) had ten hits on the way to victory. North Decatur Chargers Varsity got on the board in the first inning. Nolan Burkhart drove in one when Burkhart singled. Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN) scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN) came thanks to singles by Gavin Groth and Keagan Williamson and a fielder’s choice by Austin Bowling. Clark Dwenger took the win for Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN). Dwenger allowed three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four. Brady Borgman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Xander Jones took the loss for North Decatur Chargers Varsity. The righthander went one and one-third innings, allowing seven runs on five hits. Ried Messer started the game for North Decatur Chargers Varsity. Messer went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out four Devin Grieshop started the game for Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN). The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out three North Decatur Chargers Varsity totaled ten hits. Burkhart, Jones, and Ty Litmer all managed multiple hits for North Decatur Chargers Varsity. Burkhart went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead North Decatur Chargers Varsity in hits. Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN) tallied ten hits on the day. Williamson, Grieshop, Borgman, and Dwenger each racked up multiple hits for Jac-Cen-Del (Osgood, IN). |
