St. Mary’s Cross Country

St. Mary’s hosted their last home meet of the season on Monday against Lawrenceburg & Jac-Cen-Del. The Knights had a great race overall,with many PRs. The girls team came out victorious with a first place team finish. The girls claimed a perfect score taking the top 5 ribbons: Josie Slaven (12:04), Kelsey Slaven (13:00PR), Caitlyn Kendall (13:11PR), Josie Wenning (13:38), and Frankie Fry (13:47). SM claimed 8th & 9th ribbons also: Harper Kinsey (14:48) and Kylie Harpring (15:06). Tessa Hersley (15:10PR) finished 11th and Zoe Curd (15:26PR) took 13th. Alex Fry (16:33) and Sydney Fry (16:43PR) placed 16th & 17th. Maya Kress (20:02PR) finished 23rd. The boys took 2nd as a team, missing 1st by only 1 point. Fletcher Hash (11:38PR) and Conner Bedel (12:13) took 2nd & 3rd place ribbons. Nolan Hash (12:34) finished 5th. Nolan Wells (12:49PR) finished 8th. Maxwell Gauck (13:25PR) and Landen Fuel (13:32) took 10th & 11th. Henry Schutte (14:43PR) wrapped up the Knights roster with a 14th place. The Knights honored their 8th grade runners at the race: Conner Bedel, Frankie Fry, Kylie Harpring, Henry Schutte, and Josie Wenning. The coaches want to thank them for their leadership on the team and wish them the very best in high school. The Knights have 2 more regular season meets: Indian Creek on Thursday & North Decatur on Monday. Good luck, Knights!
