Alice Marie Blodgett, 86

Alice Marie Blodgett, 86, of Hope, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Methodist Hospital.

Born September 19, 1935 in Shelbyville. She was the daughter of Roscoe William and Fern Lucille (Metz) Kincade.

Alice was a beautician and owner of Marie’s Beauty Shop for many years. She loved to cook, bake, sew, crochet, play cards, and most of all she loved to dance.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Wilmer with whom she raised 5 children on their family farm – Ernest Wilmer (deceased), Becky Smith (Larry), Ken Wilmer, Barbara Meeks (Jack), and John Wilmer. Alice has 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed! 

After being widowed, Alice married Sam Blodgett, they enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with friends at the VFW, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. Sam preceded her in death.

She is survived by 2 brothers: Dick Kincade and Paul Kincade; one sister, Lois Domeland; and her longtime friend, Len Turner.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Bill Kincade, Jim Kincade, and Bobby Kincade; and 3 sisters: Phyllis Bowling, Mary Ann Blair, and Patty Patrick.

Visitation will be Monday, February 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, with Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
