Carolyn “Maggie” Phillips, 86, passed away on October 11, 2021.
Maggie was born in Adams, Indiana on September 3, 1935 to Bud and Mable Phillips. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Hickory Creek and she had quite a stash of Hickory bucks. She also enjoyed crafts and her creations were on display at the Decatur County Fair each year.
She is survived by her siblings, James Phillips, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Charles (Shirley) Phillips, of Brown County, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank Phillips, Winifred Phillips, Robert Phillips, and Lawrence Phillips; sisters, Elizabeth Phillips, Betty Phillips, Vernie Phillips, Margaret Huegel, Lenner Phillips, and Mary Marie Phillips.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Hickory Creek nursing home and especially to Cheryl Hartford, The Maggie Whisperer. Also thanks to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
A Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Danny Wolford will be officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hickory Creek Activities Department.
