Charles Vohland, 69

Charles William “Chuck” Vohland, age 69, formerly of Clarksburg left us to be with God on Monday, January 16, 2023.  Chuck was born in Clarksburg on August 25, 1953 and dedicated his life to serving the small community.  He will be remembered for his passion for landscaping, practical jokes, and fun-loving spirit.

Chuck was a man who enjoyed socializing with family and friends. He loved watching sports with his son Josh and was an avid fan of the Pacers, the Reds, and the Colts.  The Bengals were also special to him, because of his son Josh’s love for the team.  Chuck could often be found buying rounds at local watering holes and earned his nickname “Indiana Willy” with his karaoke abilities.  He was a friend to all and generous beyond measure.

Nothing made Chuck prouder than his family.  For four generations his landscaping company, Vohland Nursery, proudly served the Clarksburg/Greensburg/Lake Santee community.  Like his grandfather and father before him, Chuck’s customers became family and knew they were cared for.  The moment he found out he was going to be a grandpa he beamed with joy. He deeply loved his three granddaughters.

Chuck is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Jana; his children, Bridgett (Steph) DiVohl of Bloomington and Josh (Maddi) Vohland of Batesville; and three grandchildren: Stevie, Elsie, and Lola.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene “Gene” and Gwenalda “Gwen” Vohland and his brother, Eugene “Duffy” Vohland.
