Daniel Wayne Reetz, 69 of Columbus, passed away at 6:38 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1952 in Columbus, the son of Wayne Richard and Irene (Powers) Reetz. He enjoyed his CB radio and shooting guns. Daniel retired after serving in the US Army after more than 20 years of service. Two of his many duty stations was Korea and Germany. He married Chong Suk Kim on February 5, 1976 in Soeul, South Korea and she survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Ann (Barry) Johnson of Columbus and Janet (Shaun) Einolf of Frederick, Maryland; his son, Jae Reetz of Columbus; his sisters, Judy (Ervin) Linde of Rockford, Iowa and Vickie (Donald) Turner of Thornfield, Missouri; his grandchildren, Markus Cowan, Christian Reetz, Breanna Walker, Sophia Sorrentino, Tae Reetz, Nathaniel Franklin, Connor Einolf and Charlotte Einolf. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Etta Curtis and Lillian Tannenbaum; his brother, Clarence Ed Stuart. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Aerie Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
