Danny E. Small, 73, of Columbus, passed at 2:05 p.m. Friday January 13, 2023, at
Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born November 1, 1949, in Columbus, the son
of Loren E. and Betty Jean (Henderson) Small. He was a lifelong resident of
Bartholomew County and graduated from Columbus High School in 1967. He retired
from Cummins Engine Company in 2002 after 33 years of service. He was a faithful
servant of the Crossroads Community Church since its beginning. He loved
bowling, being outdoors, and above all else, he loved spending time with his
family. He never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face and was always
ready with a story or a joke. He married Juliette Frith October 15, 1988, in
Edinburgh. Survivors include his wife, Juliette Small; his daughter, Cynthia L.
Small of Columbus; his sons, Steven D. Small (Beth) of Bloomington, IL, Robert
D. Bowden (Natalie) of Franklin, Richard D. Bowden of Franklin, and Scott Aaron
Small of Columbus; his sisters Carol Herron (Everett), Lynda Hadley and Lora
Lucas (Thomas) all of Columbus; his eleven grandchildren and eleven great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Judith Britt
and his brother, Larry Small. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Tracy
McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of
visitation will be held on Saturday January 21, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to time of
service at the church. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the
