Jack Edwin Neukam, 61

Jack Edwin Neukam, 61, of Westport, passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Tuesday,
December 20, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on April 13, 1961,
in Rushville, the son of Edwin Earl and Ruby Mae (Fultz) Neukam. He was born and
raised in Rush and Decatur Counties. Jack had attended Rushville Consolidated
Schools and South Decatur High School. He had worked for Service Dry Wall in
Indianapolis for approximately 20 years. He worked for Kraus Trucking in
Greensburg since 2010 hauling mail through Decatur, Jennings, and Jefferson
counties. He was a member of the Indiana Blacksmithing Association. He enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends, drinking beer with his dad and
friends while hanging out in the garage, Tae Kwon Do & Kali – Coblentz School of
Martial Arts. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Blacksmithing and
swapping recipes. He married Paula Gant on March 16, 1996, at the Bear Creek
Baptist Church and she survives. Other survivors include his father, Edwin Earl
Neukam of Westport; his sons, Robert (Kristina) Neukam of North Vernon and
Elijah Neukam of Westport; his sisters, Kim (Phillip) Gerrian of Laurel, Lisa
(Jim) Willoughby of New Castle and Pam (Greg) Anderson of Farmington New Mexico;
his brother, Lance (Carrie) Schenkel of Richmond; his grandsons, Matthew
Michael, Kyle Scott, Colton Bobby, Jackson Edwin & Zane Alexander Neukam all of
North Vernon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Mae Fultz Schenkel;
sister, Karen Sue Schenkel in infancy; grandparents, Della Brooks & Charlie
Fultz, Lily Hays Wright & Paul Neukam. The funeral service will be conducted at
2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in
Westport with Gloria Dunaway-Harlett & Daniel Coblentz. Per his wishes cremation
will follow. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, from Noon until time
of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made
