Jason Wayne Gearhart, 44, of Lufkin Texas passed away on Saturday February 17th, 2024. He had lived in Hancock, Decatur, and Shelby Counties of Indiana.
Jason was born on August 28th, 1979 in Columbus, IN to Allen Eugene Gearhart and Judy Rice. He had lived in Texas and Indiana and he just moved to Texas to be with his mom last fall.
Jason had worked at Delta Faucet and Speedway in Greensburg. He had worked at Indiana Automotive Fastenal’s in Hancock County. Jason never met a stranger; he could start talking to someone like he had known them for years. He was a big ole Teddy Bear.
Jason is survived by his mom Judy Rice and stepfather Robert Lewis Rice of Lufkin Texas, brothers Brian Gearhart of Massachusetts, Andy Gearhart of Greensburg, Sean Rice of Texas, sisters Angie (Danny)Edmondson of North Vernon, Terri Anne Gearhart of Massachusetts, Diana Snyder, Joanna Noel, Nikki James, and Aaliyah Rice all of Texas. He had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was survived by his uncles – George Gearhart of Shelbyville, James Gearhart of Greensburg, Mark (Diana) Gearhart of Greensburg, Rick (Teresa) Gearhart of Columbus, Adrian Gearhart of Greensburg, Aunts Rebecca Gearhart of Greensburg, Mary (Jim Romero) DeWeese of Geneva, Edith (David) Rutherford of Geneva, Louella Hirschauer of Waldron, dear friends, Momma Hartsfield and Robert Salazar. Preceded in death by his father Allen Eugene Gearhart, and a brother Timothy Allen Gearhart, uncle Larry (Moe) Gearhart, uncle Robert Wright, and step grandmother Evelyn Morris.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 21st, at 2pm at the Greensburg First Christian Church Family Life Center in Greensburg, IN with a meal to follow.
