Joyce Laverne Wirth, 92, of Greensburg passed away on March 18, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Myron S. and Sylvia Estell Lay. Joyce was a 1947 graduate of Morrow High School in Morrow, Ohio. On June 26, 1948 she married Robert Wirth and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2013. Joyce owned and operated a candy store in Escondido, California and retired after 21 years in 1990 from Hewlitt Packard. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Logos Community Church in Escondido; and the Greensburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: Granddaughter, Carol (Petty) Hamilton of Escondido, CA; Great Grandchildren, Christopher L. Petty, Michael J. Honn, and Natalie A. Honn; Brother, David K. Lay; many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Daughter, Virginia Lee Wirth Petty; Sisters, Sylvia Ann Wirth, Mary Ruth Hurst, and Carol Estell Raya; Brothers, Myron H. Lay and Charles W. Lay.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Greensburg United Methodist Church, 301 N. Broadway Street, Greensburg, Indiana 47240 with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido, California. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of Decatur County.
