Judith Joy Nugent, 75, of Westport, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday,
January 24, 2026, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born on August 16,
1950, in Greensburg, Indiana, the daughter of Paul Dee & Lois Ruth (Hollis)
Badgley. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and a 1968 graduate of
Sandcreek High School. She worked at Cummins Child Development Center and Asbury
Children’s Morning Out. Judy was a former member of Crossroads Community Church
and a member of the Alert Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren, quilting and flower gardening. Judy married Robert Franklin
Nugent on September 24, 1968, in Letts, Indiana and he survives. Other survivors
include her daughters, Michelle Lynn (David) Frankhauser of Columbus and Dawn
Renee Corbin of Westport; her son, Robert Scott Nugent of Westport; a sister,
Mabryann (Cary) Hutchinson of Columbus; brothers, Edward Badgley and William
(Jane) Badgley both of Greensburg; grandsons, Zackary Linger, Isaiah Spicer,
Gavin Frankhauser and Thaddeus Nugent; granddaughters, Rilynn Frankhauser and
Cadence Nugent. She was preceded in death by her parents. Following her wishes
she will be cremated and a service will be scheduled at a later date due to the
weather. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Community Church
