Karen Kay Franklin, 66

Karen Kay Franklin, 66, of Greensburg passed away on January 27, 2023. She was born on May 4, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Griffith and Betty (Bise) Ogden.  Karen was a 1974 graduate of Arlington High School, Indianapolis, Indiana. She married James Franklin and together they had two daughters, Robin and Jenifer, he preceded her in death. On May 7, 2023 she would have married her Fiancé, Steve Briggs.

She enjoyed Gardening, Cooking, Traveling and caring for her daughters and grandchildren. Whenever she and Steve could they were off to a bed and breakfast, going to concerts and trying new places to eat.  Karen was a sweet and loving person and never complaint even when she wasn’t feeling well. Karen worked at Dance World Bazaar of Greensburg.

Survivors include: Daughters: Jenifer McQueen and Robin Franklin; Fiancé, Steve Briggs; Grandchildren: Christian McQueen, Megan McQueen, Haley McQueen, Hope Franklin, Jacob Ruble; Siblings: Connie Heck (Tom), Keith Ogden (Bobbie); Many nieces and nephews; Stepchildren, Pamela Jacob and Ramona Farrell. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband, James Franklin, and Stepson, Jerry Lovel.

Many thanks to Steve’s daughters Shea and Faith who welcomed Karen into their family with open arms. Karen really enjoyed being with the girls whenever possible. The family would like to thank the two ladies, that were strangers at Walmart, for helping Karen at a time of need and praying for her. It is such a relief to know that someone was with her.

Family and Friends are invited to gather to share stories on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am. Pastor Rick Glowacki will be officiating.
