Linda Arnett, 80

Linda Arnett, 80, formerly of Westport, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. She was born on March 18, 1941 in Westport, the daughter of Morris Henry and Georgia Ann (Palmer) Low. She had been a lifelong resident of Westport. She was a custodian at South Decatur Elementary for 22 years having retired in 2007. Linda enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting with family and friends. Linda married James E. Arnett in Greensburg, on November 11, 1959. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1996. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Mike) Sylke of Freetown; her son, James Anthony “Tony” (Rebecca) Arnett of Freetown; her sisters, Lula (Larry) Allman of Columbus, Lila (Benny) Vermillion of Butlerville, Lura (Larry) Baker of Nashville; her brother, Jack Morris (Denise) Low of Brown County; her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Eric Arnett and her brothers, Kenneth Icem Low and Max Dean Low. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on May 10, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor George Willette officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021 until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are recommended.
