Martha Rose Blankman, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at Morning Breeze Retirement Community in Greensburg, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 21, 1936, Martha was the daughter of Lawrence F. Blankman and Bernadine C. (Artmeier) Blankman. A proud graduate of Greensburg Community High School, Martha went on to work as an operating room technician in Indianapolis at Community Hospital before returning home to serve at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. After several years in the medical field, she transitioned to work at BCA, where she remained until her retirement in the early 2000s.

Martha was deeply dedicated to every role she held, whether professionally or in service to others. A woman of many talents, she loved to cook, sew, and tend to flowers—true to her roots as a farm girl at heart. Above all, Martha’s life was marked by her unwavering faith. A devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg, she served not only her local parish but also the wider Catholic Church wherever the Holy Spirit led her. Martha was steadfast in prayer, especially in her devotion to the Rosary.

She is survived by her brother, Arthur “Art” (Maria) Blankman; her brother-in-law, Ferdinand “Johnny” Bedel; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marjorie Bedel, Marie Wolter, and Rose Marie Green; and brothers-in-law, Leo Wolter and George Green.

A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg. Visitation will follow from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Father John Meyer. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
