Norman Lyle Richards, 72 of Seymour passed away at 3:22 P.M. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. He was born on February 14, 1949 in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of Elmer & Marie (Allen) Richards. He lived the majority of his life in Decatur County and graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1967. He received an Associate’s degree with Honors in 1969 from ITT Educational Services. Norman was an engineer and retired from AT&T after 32 years of service. He was a past member of Berean Bible Church of Columbus and was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church in Seymour. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps and enjoyed ham radios, garage sales and the Awana youth program. He married Constance Beard on August 18, 1973 and she preceded him in death on January 5, 1992. He is survived by several cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Rita M. Richards. Following Norman’s wishes, Norman will be cremated and graveside services for Norman and his sister, Rita M. Richards will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts, Indiana with burial to follow. Pastor David Marvin and Pastor Robert Franklin will be officiating.
