Richard Earl Schlarb, 78 died Thursday June 19, 2025, at 10:13 AM at
Serenity House in Morristown, Tennessee with his family by his side.
Richard was born May 19, 1947, in Long Beach, California to William
Earl Schlarb and Lois Emily (Kircher) Schlarb. He was a 1966
graduate of Kaiser Slautern High School in Germany. Richard served
his country in the United States Army and National Guard. He enjoyed
anything to do with airplanes, helicopters and also parachuting. He
also enjoyed fishing, photography, and times with his friends Douglas
Thunder Horse and Bobby. Richard also enjoyed playing Native
American flutes with his Tree City Flute Circle. Richard enjoyed
gardening and his favorite flower was the hibiscus. He took pleasure
in feeding the wild birds and watching their antics, especially the
hummingbirds.
He is survived by his three children- Amy Schlarb, Lorie (John)
Zimmerman and Brandon (Kelsey) Schlarb. His eight grandchildren,
eight great grandchildren a stepmother Myrell “Kay” Schlarb, three
sisters- Susan Marie Schlarb, Cynthia Eugene and Patricia Kutzer and
a nephew Joshua David Starr. Along with several cousins Dave
McClaren, Jim McClaren and Warren Winchester.
Richards parents and grandparents proceed him in his death.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11:00
A.M.at the Indiana Veterans Cemetery in Madison Indiana. Memorial
contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Bread of
Life in Greensburg, IN or the Serenity House in Morristown, TN.
