Roberta L. Adams, 71, of Westport, passed away at 8:11 p.m. on Tuesday, January
16, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on May 3, 1952,
in Peru, Indiana, the daughter of Doyle and Lottie Marie (Mickels) Hays. Roberta
was raised in Letts and graduated from South Decatur High School in 1970. She
was a member of South Decatur Baptist Church. She married Terry DeWayne “Butch”
Adams on July 25, 1970, in Letts and he survives. Other survivors include her
sons, Jeff (Michelle) Adams and Jerry (Alexa) Adams both of Greensburg; her
sisters, Faye Ballard of Columbus, Betty Lou (Bobby) Meadows and Sandy Meadows
both of Greensburg; her brothers, William Hays of Letts, Gene (Libby) Hays and
Roger Hays both of Columbus, and Randy (Linda) Hays of Westport; her
grandchildren, Cory Adams, Kirsten Adams, Blake Adams & Austin Adams. She was
preceded in death by her parents; brother, Timothy Hays; 3 nephews and 1 niece.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at
Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Rev. Gary East will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on
Monday, January 22, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at
the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Decatur
