Roger Glen Amburgey, 66, of Westport, passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Saturday, May
27, 2023, at Kindred Hospital of Indianapolis North. He was born on August 25,
1956, in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of Hobert and Ruby (Jones) Amburgey. He was
raised in Burney and graduated in 1974 from South Decatur High School. He
retired in 2022 from ABM Manufacturing after 40 years of service. Roger enjoyed
walking his dog and watching westerns. He married Kelly Lee Voiles on April 25,
2002, in Greensburg and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2021. Roger is
survived by his father, Hobert Amburgey of Salem; his daughters, Jessica (Glen)
Underwood and Kayla Cathey (Quentin Reed) both of Greensburg; his sons, Josh
(Sammi) Amburgey of Greensburg and Nick (Nikki) Bagwell of Clarksburg, Maryland;
his sister, Faye Amburgey of Jeffersonville; his brothers, Bazel Amburgey of
Salem, and Floyd Amburgey of Seymour; his 12 grandchildren and 2 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Amburgey; his wife,
Kelly Lee Amburgey and his dog, Spanky. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with
Pastor Dawn Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. A
time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 11:00 a.m.
until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St.
