Ronald P. Graue, 76

Ronald P. Graue, 76, of Greensburg, passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1945 in Batesville, the son of Paul & Urpha (Steingruber) Graue. He grew up in Greensburg & Westport, graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1964. Ron has been a resident of Decatur County the majority of his life. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1996 after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; Masonic Lodge #36 in Greensburg where he served twice as Master, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; the York Rite in Columbus; the Order of the Eastern Star #147 in Greensburg and the Murat Temple in Indianapolis. He enjoyed repairing small engines, attending flea markets, coon hunting, snowmobiling in Wisconsin and upper Michigan. He married Helen Catherine Layton on April 10, 1965 in Jamestown, Tennessee. She survives along with his sons, Gregory (Daphne) Graue of Shenzhen, China and Geoffrey (Julie) Graue of Noblesville; his brother, Terry (Mary Ann) Graue of Westport; his grandchildren, Randell (Victoria) Graue of Greensburg, Sierra Graue of Noblesville and Sean Graue of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Father Bill Ehalt officiating. Burial will be at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at 3:00 p.m. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines and masks are recommended.
