Russell Leo Burkhart, 85, of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday August 22, 2021. He was born on August 6, 1936 in Greensburg, IN to Raymond and Hilda Burkhart.
Russell worked as an auto mechanic all his life until he retired from Don Meyer Ford in Greensburg. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Russell loved to collect things, especially any type of bottle. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.
He is survived by his son, Tony (Connie) Burkhart; daughter, Marilles (Dave) Mauer; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Dick Burkhart, Stella Vanderphol, Paul Burkhart, Rita Dickman, Margie Eldridge, and Thelma Griewe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Betty Burkhart; brothers: Ralph Burkhart and Bob Burkhart.
A Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 3:30pm at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 4-7pm also at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
