Ruth Cathryn Meyer Buerger, widow of Richard MacAulay Buerger, peacefully passed away at 94 years, on Wednesday night February 16, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the daughter of Joseph Otto and Anne Elizabeth Nieman Meyer who owned a grocery store in Greensburg.
She worked in assorted office positions while she moved around with Dick while he served 25 years in the Navy. After retirement, Ruth and Dick had a business which included a laundromat, mini-warehouse and seasonal rentals.
She is survived by three children, seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was active into her 90’s with Red Hats, and River City Women’s club. She loved puzzles, scrabble, hand and foot canasta and reading mysteries.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.
