Ruth Ellen Hogg, 85 of Greensburg, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Aspen Place Health Campus. She was born on July 5, 1935 in Greensburg, the daughter of Edward Earl and Naomi Gladys (Hampton) McLaughlin. She had been a Decatur County resident for most of her life. Ruth graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953 and had worked for Marsh Supermarkets for 17 years. She enjoyed cooking, making noodles and being a homemaker. She married Robert Lewis Hogg in Jellico, Tennessee on October 22, 1993. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Jacquelyn (Frank) Massey, Katherine Mueller (Gayle Gatewood) and Angela (David) Karbowski all of Greensburg; her brother, Gordon McLaughlin of Greensburg; her four grandchildren and her six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joyce Brown and great granddaughter, Briana Wright Mueller. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Friends & family may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. We advise visitors to follow social distancing guidelines inside the funeral home and masks are recommended.
