Auto-pedestrian crash

On April 19, 2024, at approximately 4:55 p.m., deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle crash on SR 7 near Queensville. Upon arrival, deputies observed several military medics providing medical care to a male subject who had been struck by a vehicle. Deputies and personnel from Rescue 20 arrived on the scene and together provided care to the male subject. The male subject was transported from the scene where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The initial investigation conducted by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office indicates that the male subject, Ross Miller, was walking southbound along the west side of SR 7 when he attempted to cross the highway and was struck by a southbound 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by Bonnie Bryant of Scipio, IN. Miller sustained fatal injuries as a result. Bryant was transported by EMS for evaluation after the crash.

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Rescue 20, Scipio Geneva Fire Rescue, several members of the military, and Lucas Towing.

At this time, alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor in the crash
