On 03/31/2023 at approximately 10:24 PM deputies responded to a report of an accident with injury at
the intersection of N US 31 and W Market Place Dr. Upon deputies’ arrival learned that a pedestrian
had been struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian, Ashley Johnson 37 of Chicago, IL, was struck as she attempted to cross the northbound
lanes of N US 31. Johnson sustained head and leg injuries for which she was transported to Columbus
Regional Hospital by ambulance.
The Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene due to the nature of the collision. The
incident remains under investigation at this time.
