TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

On June 25, 2022, approximately 11:51 p.m., Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Bagby
conducted a traffic stop at US 31/Eisenhower Drive. During the stop, it was discovered that a passenger
in the vehicle, identified as Connor Spachtholtz, 33, Columbus, had 2 outstanding arrest warrants. Here’s what’s alleged –
During the arrest, Spachtholtz fled from the vehicle on foot but was shortly apprehended by deputies on
scene. Deputies also seized prescription pills and illegal narcotics from the scene.
Spachtholtz was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for evaluation then to the Bartholomew County
Jail without further incident.
Spachtholtz remains in BCJ, in lieu of $195,000 bond on preliminary charges involving allegations of:
False identifying
Dealing controlled substance
Possession controlled substance
Resisting law enforcement
Possession of paraphernalia
Warrant (2)
All persons are considered innocent unless/until proven guilty in a court of law.
