House Bill 1032 Failed following a 31-19 Vote

The Indiana Senate voted Wednesday to stop House Bill 1032, the state’s redistricting plan, from moving forward. The bill failed with a 31–19 vote, meaning it will not go to Governor Mike Braun for approval.

Governor Braun issued a statement following the Senate’s decision, expressing disappointment in the outcome. “I am very disappointed that a small group of misguided State Senators have partnered with Democrats to reject this opportunity to protect Hoosiers with fair maps and to reject the leadership of President Trump,” Braun said. “Ultimately, decisions like this carry political consequences. I will be working with the President to challenge these people who do not represent the best interests of Hoosiers.”
