Margaret Mary Health COVID-19 Update: 10.8.21
September proved to be a challenging month for our inpatient unit, recording the highest number of total inpatient days we’ve seen in decades. However, this first week in October we’ve seen a gradual decline in the number of COVID+ patients and we hope this trend continues throughout the remainder of the month. Data from the Indiana State Department of Health also seems to indicate that the number of positive cases across most of the state are also heading in the right direction and declining.
Inpatient Care: We currently have 21 patients on our Med Surg floor, with 2 of those patients in our Special Care Unit. 12 of our patients are COVID+ (positive). The total percent of our hospitalized COVID+ patients since August 1 who were not vaccinated continues to hold steady around 84%.
Testing & Vaccination: MMH can provide testing for symptomatic patients at our Main Campus Lab with an order from your primary care provider. To schedule your COVID-19 vaccine or booster, contact the MMH Occupational Health & Wellness Center at 812.932.5105. Appointments are available Monday 7:30 AM to 6 PM and Tuesday – Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
