New Palestine Man Arrested for Child Molestation

Hancock County, IN – Indiana State Police Detectives have arrested a man on allegations of child molestation. July 9, 2025, ISP Detectives received information about incidents of child sexual abuse occurring several years ago. Investigators began looking into the information and conducted interviews, leading to the request for a search warrant.

July 22, 2025 ISP Detectives, with the assistance of ISP SWAT members, conducted a warranted search of the suspect’s residence in New Palestine. The investigation subsequently led to the arrest of 54 year old David McDaniel. McDaniel is a former law enforcement officer, the crimes he is accused of allegedly occurred while he was employed as a police officer. McDaniel was taken into custody earlier today, July 24, 2025, and transported to the Hancock County Jail. 

This arrest is based upon probable cause of a crime, the charges mentioned are preliminary, formal charges will be determined by the Hancock County Prosecutor upon review of the case. All suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
