From the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department
On 06/01/2023 at approximately 11:25 PM deputies from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office as
well as officers from the Hope Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 blk of
Elm St in Hope, IN.
A 36yo male as well as a 2yo male both suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to Indianapolis
area hospital by Lifeline. They continue to undergo medical evaluation/treatment and their condition is
unknown at this time. Initial investigation suggests this shooting stems from a family dispute.
A Robbie L. Perez 35yo of Columbus has been identified as the alleged suspect, he is possibly driving a silver Chevrolet HHR with Indiana license plate number TKQ614. Perez should be considered
armed/dangerous and possibly in any of the surrounding counties around Bartholomew County
including Rush County. If you have any information as to the immediate whereabouts of Perez please
