Michael L. Phillips, 63, of Westport, passed away at 1:18 p.m. on Tuesday, July
30, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on February 9,
1961 in Greensburg, the son of Steve Paul and Helen Irene (Simmons) Phillips.
Michael was a lifelong resident of Decatur County. He was an avid outdoorsman
who enjoyed being outside and liked to garden. He is survived by his daughters,
Cassandra (Brett) Little and Jodi (Brian) Murphy both of Westport, Stephanie
(Barb) Piercy of Shelbyville, Christie Wood and Alicia Ramer both of Greensburg;
sons, Rob (Elsy) Ramer of Illinois and Michael Ramer of Greensburg; sisters,
Karen (Chuck) Sosbe of Kokomo, Patricia Roberts and Susan (Doug) Doles both of
Greensburg; brothers, Steve T. (Deb) Phillips of Scottsburg and Timothy J.
Phillips of Greensburg; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Steve Paul and Helen Irene Phillips. Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2023 at Bass & Gasper
Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Tony Guy officiating. A time of visitation
will be on Saturday, August 3 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hospital
