North Decatur Softball with a big win over Jac-Cen-Del


Carmen Thackery drove in four runs on four hits to lead North Decatur Varsity Chargers past Jac-Cen-Del 17-0 on Tuesday. Thackery doubled in the first scoring one, singled in the second scoring one, singled in the fourth scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.
 
North Decatur Varsity Chargers won thanks in part to 11 runs in the fourth inning. Thackery singled, scoring one run, Libby Crawford tripled, scoring two runs, Brooklyn White hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, a wild pitch scored two runs, Thackery singled, scoring one run, Kendall Hostkoetter singled, scoring one run, and Crawford doubled, scoring two runs.
 
North Decatur Varsity Chargers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Thackery doubled down the left field line, Hostkoetter doubled down the left field line, and Crawford singled to center field, each scoring one run.
 
Elizabeth Meister led things off in the circle for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. The hurler gave up three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Cullen started in the circle for Jac-Cen-Del. The pitcher allowed 23 hits and 17 runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking none.
 
North Decatur Varsity Chargers piled up 23 hits in the game. Crawford provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led North Decatur Varsity Chargers with five runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Leadoff hitter Madison Rohls led North Decatur Varsity Chargers with five hits in five at bats. Meister, Hostkoetter, Jocelyn Jackson, and Thackery each collected multiple hits for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. Jackson, Rohls, and Thackery each stole multiple bases for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. North Decatur Varsity Chargers ran wild on the base paths, tallying 14 stolen bases for the game. North Decatur Varsity Chargers turned one double play in the game. North Decatur Varsity Chargers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. White made the most plays with four.
 
Cullen, A Moorman, and Seymour each collected one hit for Jac-Cen-Del. Jac-Cen-Del were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
 
Swinney had the most chances in the field with five.
