Madison Rohls collected three hits in five at bats, but North Decatur Varsity Chargers lost to Rushville 15-9 on Wednesday. Rohls doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the seventh inning. North Decatur Varsity Chargers lost despite outhitting Rushville 16 to 12. Rohls and Carmen Thackery each collected three hits for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. North Decatur Varsity Chargers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kendall Hostkoetter doubled down the left field line, and Hostkoetter scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Rushville jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Becca Tabeling was struck by a pitch, Stacey Roberts tripled down the left field line, and Makenna Ripberger grounded out, each scoring one run. Rushville scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ella Bowles singled, scoring one run, Audrey Angle doubled, scoring two runs, Macy Blevins singled, scoring one run, and Roberts singled, scoring two runs. Hostkoetter pitched four innings in relief for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. The reliever surrendered five hits and six runs (five earned) while, striking out one and walking five. Brooklyn White started in the circle for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. The righty surrendered seven hits and nine runs (eight earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking four. Kiara Flannery started in the circle for Rushville. The starter surrendered 16 hits and nine runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking none. North Decatur Varsity Chargers amassed 16 hits in the game. Libby Crawford drove the middle of the lineup, leading North Decatur Varsity Chargers with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Emma Schoettmer and White each collected multiple hits for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. Rushville collected 12 hits in the game. Roberts drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rushville with four runs batted in. The right fielder went 3-for-5 on the day. Bowles, Kyleigh Glandon, Angle, and Eliza Snow each collected multiple hits for Rushville. Tabeling led Rushville with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Next up for North Decatur Varsity Chargers is a game at Hauser on Thursday. |
